The PMYC supports the reciprocal membership enjoyed through being affiliated with Australian Sailing and welcomes other clubs’ members to participate in PMYC Events.
Events and Attendance
The PMYC complies with the new Australian Sailing requirements in that each skipper and/or crew must be a paid member of an affiliated club for every event. Sign-on through the club's event management system is required for each day of racing, contact a club official for assistance if this is not available for you. >>>> Events <<<<
Skippers of yachts are required to purchase a full membership to cover the cost of Series Events such as Ocean Buoy, Twilight etc as for these events there is also no registration fee. Non-PMYC affiliated Club Members are able to race with the PMYC at no charge. Previously three free "trial sail" days were part of the membership process however the absence of a financial membership exposed these individuals to risk where they were not covered by insurance.
What is different about racing with the PMYC?
The PMYC does not operate from a clubhouse or shore facility. This reduces the running costs for the club and the maintenance and overhead with running racing.
The PMYC uses competitors to self-record times and does not have a starting vessel. The sailing instructions vary the Racing Rules of Sailing specifically to address the changes that this requires.
